Do you love food and preparing it for others? Tully Hill is accepting applications for an experienced individual to join our team as Food Service Director / Head Chef. Will assume responsibility for the direction, provision and quality of nutritional services provided to patients seeking inpatient treatment for substance use disorder. Will lead, monitor and supervise kitchen staff in preparing daily meals for patients, staff and visitors that is tasty, nutritious, well presented and fun! Help our patients be reintroduced and enjoy delicious and nutritious food! Must have the capacity to provide leadership, motivate and inspire the kitchen team and cultivate a team environment among direct reports and peers. Position reports to the Executive Director and is a member of the Leadership Team
Tully Hill offers a great opportunity to work in a recently renovated, immaculate commercial kitchen! Our recently constructed serenity garden offers a multi-functional patio area that surrounds raised planters. Fresh, home-grown herbs, vegetables and fruits are harvested for use in preparing meals. Our BBQ smoker is a fun option for cooking food in a controlled, smoky environment. No evenings! Kitchen hours are between 6am and 6pm 7 days/week.
Responsibilities include managing kitchen operations to include food preparation and friendly, efficient services; ensuring compliance with applicable Department of Health food service regulations; developing menus; preparing and submitting orders needed for kitchen services including food items, paper products and cleaning products; ensuring safety, security and cleanliness of the kitchen; providing culinary presentations/demonstrations to patients as part of the multi-disciplinary team approach to patient treatment and experience; training, scheduling and maximizing productivity of kitchen staff (365 days, 12-hour operation); preparing and coordinating meals for onsite functions; developing and implementing policy and procedure; conducting inventory of food and other items monthly and controlling department costs.
Professional, team oriented individual with the ability to work as part of a multi-disciplinary team. Excellent culinary, leadership, communication, cost control skills and simple budgeting skills required. Culinary school graduate preferred. 5+ years’ experience in restaurants and other food service operations. Demonstrable knowledge of food service regulations. Current SERVSAFE certification preferred. Previous leadership experience preferred.

Salary Range – $70k – 80k
The salary range is provided in accordance with NYS law and is based on Tully Hill’s good faith belief of what is accurate at the time of posting.
